Milestones is a personal roadmap app. This page explains, in plain language, what we store, why we store it, and how you stay in control. It is maintained by the Milestones team and is not an independent certification or audit.
What we store
- Account details. Your email address, and your name and profile photo when your sign-in provider shares them.
- Your content. The journeys, milestones, and steps you create, including their scheduled dates and completion state.
- Integration data. When you connect an app (for example a calendar or a bank via Plaid), we store the connection status and the data needed to keep it in sync. Access tokens are encrypted before they are saved.
- Device preferences. Theme, calendar preference, and privacy toggles. Some of these live only in your browser's local storage.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not show your journeys to other users. Your data is private to your account.
- We do not post anything to your connected accounts unless you ask us to.
How your data is protected
Every table that holds your content is protected by row-level security, so a request can only read or write rows that belong to your signed-in account. Integration access tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit.
Integrations you choose
Integrations are opt-in and can be disconnected at any time from Settings → Integrations. Disconnecting removes the stored tokens for that provider. Data already synced into your journeys stays with you until you delete it.
Exporting and deleting
- Export. Download a JSON copy of your profile, journeys, milestones, and steps from Privacy Settings.
- Delete. Deleting your account permanently removes every row we hold for you across all tables, then deletes the account itself. This cannot be undone.
Children
Milestones is not intended for children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is used, we will update this page and the date at the top.
